In 2014 I was on my way to pretesting every chapter. \u00a0Because I have changed to Standards Based (Fall 2016), I have changed the way I am thinking about things. \u00a0We now have SLO’s and all of the major concepts are captured in this pretest. \u00a0Throughout the semester I am focusing on the standards that are stressed during the SLO’s. \u00a0I test every week. If I were to pre-asses with a formal pretest every few standards, all that would be done would be testing. \u00a0I now gather my information on what students know through formative assessment. \u00a0I do daily warmups and often students leave the class with an exit slip. \u00a0I am able to find out where students are at and change my teaching in order for them to show improvement and grow.<\/p>\n
