Growing and Developing Professionally 2014-2015<\/strong><\/p>\n

I already submitted my professional development in regards to cpdu\u2019s in domain 1.<\/p>\n

Data Team\/Data Coach:<\/strong>\u00a0 This job has evolved from data team to data coach.\u00a0 I feel that we were more effective when we were data team in that we had an impact on how to move forward in regards to data from testing results.\u00a0 I feel now that we are an \u201cafter thought\u201d and are not utilized effectively.\u00a0 The data coach continues to grow in regards to the evaluative process.\u00a0 More teachers recognize the importance of data and reflecting on their teaching.\u00a0 I look forward to how this part is evolving.<\/p>\n

HAT:<\/strong>\u00a0 I have had the most professional growth from this committee.\u00a0 It has been incredible.\u00a0 I have seen different top speakers and learned about the current research and knowledge in regards to education.\u00a0 This used to not enthuse me in any way.\u00a0 I was all about the classroom and I looked at the researchers as simple that\u2026researchers.\u00a0 I have enjoyed the process involved in making change for the school district.<\/p>\n

Subbing:<\/strong>\u00a0 When Martha calls, I usually answer \u201cyes\u201d.\u00a0 I not only do this for the pay, I also like to meet more of the student body and \u201cspy on what other teachers are doing\u201d.\u00a0 I really think we have many good teachers that need to be showcased.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I have walked into some awesome classrooms.\u00a0 Many times we are in our on department worlds and feel as though we have the worst situation.\u00a0 This is so not true.\u00a0 Seeing the different subject areas and class combos of my colleagues has only enlightened me.\u00a0 My favorite colleagues to sub for are the foreign language departments.\u00a0 These teachers are awesome.<\/p>\n

Registration:<\/strong>\u00a0 I always serve here yearly for three days.<\/p>\n

Key Club:<\/strong>\u00a0 I am the treasurer advisor for Key Club.\u00a0 This club trains leaders through service opportunities.\u00a0 I attend meetings and advise when necessary.\u00a0 Last year I had the privilege to attend convention with the students. \u00a0This includes participation in Kiwanis Brat Days, Greenich Village Art Fair, etc.<\/p>\n

Wellness Committee<\/strong>:\u00a0 I am a member of the wellness committee.\u00a0 I think I was chosen as the \u201cunhealthy\u201d person but I am not sure.<\/p>\n

Summer School<\/strong>:\u00a0 I taught the second half of Alg II summer school in 2014.\u00a0 We used Plato as the program.\u00a0 My opinion of this is lacking.\u00a0 I switched the kids over to Khan Academy.\u00a0 The Plato program is for self learners.\u00a0 It is not for the struggling student.\u00a0 It was a learning experience.<\/p>\n

SAIL Program:<\/strong>\u00a0 For 8 days I had the opportunity to teach computer programming to 7th<\/sup> and 8th<\/sup> grade students in the SAIL program.\u00a0 I taught the program SCRATCH.\u00a0 We had a blast.\u00a0 Harlem\u2019s SAIL program was a new idea that gave kids exploratory opportunities of learning. \u00a0Great idea\u2026great amounts of fun.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
