I have fully committed this year to organizing my classes with my website. One of my biggest obstacles with my students is the many absences that occur. Even though I try to encourage and invite students to my classroom, many do not see the importance of coming to school. How do you help those kids? How does a teacher keep them from spiraling into failure?
I have used my website www.osar.math.us as the way in which to do this. I video tape my lessons and provide the copies of the worksheets online. I also provide links of the other teachers sites encouraging students to hear another teacher if my teaching does not click with them personally. My motto is for students to be proactive and empower themselves in their learning.
